On 2 January 2010, I took a bit of a morning tour of the DFW area prior to the meet.

As I was about to leave for breakfast, a rare sight: frost in Arlington.

I took a tour out to I-20, then to TX 161 (it has been extended south to I-20). Here are some shots from that trip.

Northbound on TX 161 crossing over I-20

Starting north on TX 161. From here to I-30 it uses what will end up as frontage roads for a future freeway or turnpike. Eventually TX 161 becomes the Bush Turnpike between I-30 and TX 183. The street signs at the traffic lights are labeled as "SH 161 NBFR" or "SH 161 SBFR" depending on direction of travel.
