On 29 December I made a return trip to Boca Chica Beach to get some daytime shots.
The official east end of Texas 4, at the stop sign. The highway reaches the gulf at high tide.

Here is a view of the sand dunes near the beach.

Only in a Jeep! 4HI, 10-20 mph, no problemo!

Here is a view of the Rio Grande facing upstream from the mouth.

Here is a sandbar off the Mexican coast, which basically extends the Rio Grande.

This is the lighthouse mentioned on the previous page.

This is the view of the mouth of the Rio Grande. Rumor has it that low tide separates the Rio Grande from the Gulf, but I was not about to use my Jeep as a depth gauge!
