On 24 May 2009, while at Milan for the Old Timers Reunion, took a trip to Kirksville and Novinger to get tornado damage photos from the tornado hits on 20 May 2009.

The only shot I was able to get in Kirksville was of the housing area across US 63 from the Jim Robertson auto dealership.

The remaining photos were taken starting west from Novinger, 8 miles west of Kirksville.

First one: Novinger Renewal sign knocked down.

Novinger Baptist Church lost its porch.

Tree damage near the church.

Nearby store had damage but was open for business.

Nearby houses with roof damage

Trailer near the Baptist Church destroyed, in nearby yard.

Another view of the church.

Building next door to the Baptist Church completely destroyed.

This building on MO 6, viewed from Front Street, had at one time been an automotive repair shop.

Heading northwest on route O, this building with an antique shop had major upper-level damage.

Just outside Novinger on route O, a tree landed on a house and RV, crushing the RV.

Further down route O, after turning around: a semi on its side.

Another view of the house with crushed RV.

Another view of the damaged antique shop.

Tree damage across MO 6/149 from route O.

Tree damage just west of the intersection.

Tree damage on the north side of MO 6/149, between route O and route K.

Tree damage on the north side of MO 6/149, just before the intersection with route K.

Heavily damaged house and debris field at the intersection with route K.

Debris on the north side of MO 6/149, about a mile west of route K.

House damage on the north side of MO 6/149, about a mile and a half west of route K.

Devris on the north side of MO 6/149, at the second curve west of route K.

At this location about 3 miles west of Novinger, a house at this intersection was completely destroyed.

Debris from the destroyed house clutters the right-of-way. The damage extended nearly 4 miles west of Novinger, about to the locally-known 45-mph curve.
