Here are a some construction shots taken 27 May 2007 between Milan and Kansas City. These are on MO 6 east of Gallatin. MoDOT is replacing some old bridges in the area using a new road alignment. Construction is in the early phase with expected completion in late 2007.
This is at the east end of the project. The new road will tie in to the existing road here, eliminating a 50-mph curve.
This is over the next hill, showing the project in the bottom.
This is climbing next hill, near the junction with MO SR A.
Just west of SR A, grading is well underway. Some nasty hills will be eliminated in the project.
Approaching the west end of the project, this shows some rebuilding of one local resident's driveway.
The west end of the project. The completed project will eliminate a serpentine section by tying in to a section realigned around 1960.
