Here is a shot (taken 15 February 2007) of a new sign assembly on US 36 approaching New Cambria, Missouri. US 36 was recently expanded to 4 lanes in this area. Notice a new style of Missouri shield: a straight line from the Des Moines River to the Bootheel with a bump for the St. Louis area.

Here is a shot from Rich Piehl of a new sign assembly on westbound I-70 approaching St. Peters, Missouri. The exit distance sign is using shields for the upcoming routes.
