Here is an idea for the Interstate system upgrade in southeast Virginia.

The above map shows the I-97 and I-99 extensions down to the Hampton Roads area.

This map shows the Hampton Roads area with the addition of I-99 and I-62 and a re-route of I-64 to eliminate the existing I-64 backtrack. The suggested I-62 would extend west to meet future I-73 at Martinsville via approximately the US 58 corridor.
