Here is a concept for the Chicago-Milwaukee area. This involves extending I-55 north through Milwaukee, Oshkosh and Green Bay, extending I-57 north through Milwaukee, Manitowoc to Green Bay (replacing the northern part of I-43), creating I-92 (to replace the southern part of I-43) and extending I-65 into Michigan to replace I-196. This map shows the results (in this case keeping current I-39). Notice the reroute of I-55 along current I-355: the section of I-55 east of I-355 can become I-357 to reflect the challenge of simultaneously commuting and dodging bullets. >X^0
